When is it Time for a Touch-Up on Your Brows and When Should You Wait?

Permanent Make-Up, also known as cosmetic tattooing, is a method for enhancing eyebrows, providing a semi-permanent solution for those seeking fuller, defined brows. However, over time, the pigment in the brows may fade or begin to look uneven, and it may become necessary to schedule a touch-up. But, when is it the right time for a touch-up and when should you wait?

It is recommended to wait at least 6-8 weeks after your initial brow treatment before scheduling a touch-up. This allows time for the initial swelling and redness to subside, and for the true colour of the pigment to become visible. Most brow services recommend a touch-up or color boost appointment anywhere from 12-18 months to keep your brows looking fresh!

If you notice that the pigment in your brows has started to fade or look uneven, it may be time for a touch-up. This is especially true if you have lighter or less dense pigments, as they tend to fade faster than darker pigments. If you have naturally oily skin, you may also notice that the pigment in your brows fades faster, as the oil can carry the pigments away from the skin.

On the other hand, if you notice that the pigment in your brows has become too dark, or if you are experiencing any skin irritation or adverse reactions, it is best to wait before scheduling a touch-up. This gives your skin time to heal and the pigment time to settle.

When scheduling a touch-up, you can send an email to me here at Second Sister Studio so I can determine whether or not a touch-up may be required. I will be able to evaluate your brows, assess the current state of the pigments, and recommend the best approach for your touch-up. I will also be able to determine if you need a full touch-up or if you simply need to add more color to certain areas.
